How do I make a QR code for my Instagram profile?
Type your handle, with or without the @, or paste the link Instagram gives you under "Share profile". The tool builds the link https://www.instagram.com/yourhandle/ and draws the code. Download it as PNG or SVG.
Instagram already has a QR code for profiles. Why use this?
The app shows a code for your profile in its own design. Use this tool when you want a plain file for print with your own logo in the middle, a code for a post, a reel or your direct messages, or a link you can later swap with a dynamic VISU QR.
Why was part of my link removed?
Links copied from Instagram usually come with extra codes after a question mark, such as igsh or utm. The profile, post or reel opens without them, and a shorter link makes a simpler code that is easier to scan at small sizes.
What does the direct message code open?
It uses ig.me, the short link service run by Meta, in the form ig.me/m/yourhandle. Meta's documentation for businesses says it sends people to a conversation with the account in the Instagram app and that it is not supported on Instagram Web. Nothing is published about personal accounts, so test yours first.
Does the tool check that the handle or the post exists?
No. Nothing you type is sent to Instagram or to VISU, so the tool only reads the format. It also warns about handles that look unusual, based on what is observed in the app, since Instagram does not publish those rules. Scan the code yourself before printing.
Can I put the Instagram logo in the middle of the code?
This tool does not provide it. The centre space is for your own logo. Instagram's brand assets belong to Meta and have their own rules of use, so check them before you print its logo on anything.
Does the QR code expire?
No, a static code has no expiry date and no scan limit. It stops working only if the link stops working: you changed your handle, or the post was deleted. With a dynamic VISU QR you can point the same printed code to a new link.
