Three ways to use a QR code with VISU

  1. Static QR

    This page

The content is written into the code itself. Free forever, works offline, but it cannot be changed after printing.

  2. Dynamic VISU QR

The code points to a short visu.to link. Change where it goes at any time and see how many times it was scanned, without reprinting.

    Save and manage in VISU

Your link and name go along, so you do not need to type them again after signing in.

  3. VISU QR with ad and reward

A QR code tied to a VISU Ads campaign: a scan can open a short ad experience, with an optional reward for the person scanning.

How to use it

  1. Choose the type: link, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, email, phone, SMS, contact or location.
  2. Fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type.
  3. Adjust colours, quiet zone and error correction if you need to. Dark code on a light background scans best.
  4. Download PNG for screens and quick prints, SVG for print shops and large formats.
  5. Scan it with two different phones before printing a batch.

Examples

  • Restaurant menu

A link QR on each table pointing to the menu page. If the menu URL may change, use a dynamic VISU QR.

  • Guest Wi-Fi

A Wi-Fi QR at the reception desk: guests join without typing the password.

  • Business card

A contact QR (vCard) saves your name, phone, email and website straight into the phone.

  • WhatsApp orders

A WhatsApp QR opens a chat with a ready message, for example "I would like to order".

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. A static QR code stores the content itself, so it keeps working as long as the content (for example, the website) exists. VISU cannot turn it off.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static code holds the final content and cannot change. A dynamic code holds a short link that redirects, so the destination can be edited later and scans can be counted. Dynamic codes need an account to manage them.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is an image for screens, documents and small prints. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which is what print shops prefer.

How big should a printed QR code be?

A common rule is a code at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) for close reading, and roughly one tenth of the scanning distance for posters. Always test the printed size with real phones.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The code is generated in your browser. Wi-Fi passwords and contact details never leave your device unless you choose to save a dynamic QR in VISU, which only sends the link and name.
