Questions
Do UTM tags affect SEO?
No. Search engines ignore them for ranking. Avoid using UTM links for internal links between your own pages, because that overwrites the original source of the visit.
Which UTM parameters are required?
Technically none, but most reports group by source, medium and campaign, so fill in those three.
Uppercase or lowercase?
Analytics tools are case sensitive. Pick lowercase with hyphens and stick to it, so "Email" and "email" never split your numbers.
