WiFi QR Code Generator
Type your network name and password, and guests join by pointing their phone camera at the code. The code is made on this page: your password is never sent anywhere.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Runs in your browser
Your password stays in this browser. The code is made on this page, and nothing you type is sent to VISU or stored.
Your WiFi QR code
Type the network name to see your QR code.
A WiFi QR code is always static: the network name and password are written into it. If you change the password, print a new code.

Before you print: security
- The password is stored as plain text inside the code. Anyone who photographs the QR code can read it with any QR reader.
- Use a guest network, kept separate from the network your computers, cameras and card machines use.
- Changed the password? The printed code stops working: print a new one.
- This page makes the code in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
Add a second code next to the Wi-Fi one
Guests who scan for Wi-Fi are already holding their phone. A second code can open your menu, your page or your Google review link. As a dynamic VISU QR, its destination can change later without reprinting, and VISU shows how many times it was scanned.
Paste the link for the second code first. The Wi-Fi code itself cannot be dynamic.
How to use it
- Type the network name exactly as it appears on phones, then the password.
- Pick the security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost every router, or "No password" for an open network.
- Scan the preview with two different phones and check that both join the network.
- Download PNG or SVG, or print the ready-made card. Place it where guests can scan it comfortably.
- Changed the password? Make and print a new code.
Examples
Café or restaurant
A small card on each table or by the register, so customers join without asking for the password.
Holiday rental
A framed card by the door or on the fridge, next to the house rules.
Office reception
A code for the guest network at the front desk, separate from the staff network.
Home
A card for visitors on the guest network, so you never spell the password out loud again.
Questions
Can people see my Wi-Fi password in the QR code?
Yes. The password is stored as plain text inside the code, and any QR reader can show it. That is how WiFi QR codes work everywhere. Print it only for a network you are happy to share, ideally a guest network.
Does the QR code work without internet?
Yes. Reading the code does not need internet: the phone reads the network name and password from the code itself and then joins the network.
Does a WiFi QR code expire?
No. It keeps working while the network name, password and security type stay the same. If you change any of them, print a new code.
Can I change the password without reprinting?
No. The password is written into the code, so a new password needs a new code. A dynamic QR code cannot hold Wi-Fi details, because it only works with web links.
Which phones can read it?
Most recent iPhone and Android cameras recognise WiFi QR codes and offer to join. On older phones, use a QR reader app. Test with two phones before printing.
Does it work with hidden networks and WPA3?
Yes. Tick "Hidden network" if your router does not broadcast the name. For WPA3, choose WPA/WPA2/WPA3: the phone and router agree on the exact version. A phone without WPA3 support cannot join a WPA3-only network, with or without a QR code.
