Want to pay only for views?

VISU Ads is priced per view. You set the budget, the ad runs on QR codes, push notifications and VISU Link pages, and the people who watch it earn VISU Credits.

Create a VISU Ads campaign How VISU Ads works

How to use it

  1. Enter the ad spend and the number of views it bought.
  2. Read the CPV: spend divided by views. It is often a fraction of a cent, so the result keeps up to four decimals.
  3. Planning instead? Choose "Budget" (CPV and views) or "Views" (budget and CPV). "From CPM" turns a CPM counted on views into a CPV.
  4. Know your impressions too? Use "Add more numbers": with impressions and the view rate, the impression CPM and the CPV appear side by side.

Examples

  • Campaign CPV

    US$ 600 spent for 20,000 views is a CPV of US$ 0.03.

  • Budget from a CPV

    50,000 views at a CPV of US$ 0.02 need a budget of US$ 1,000.

  • Views from a budget

    US$ 900 at a CPV of US$ 0.045 buys 20,000 views.

  • CPM to CPV

    A CPM of US$ 12 counted on views is a CPV of US$ 0.012. With 100,000 impressions at a CPM of US$ 6 and a 25% view rate, each of the 25,000 views costs US$ 0.024.

Questions

What is CPV?

CPV means cost per view: what an advertiser pays each time the ad is viewed. It is common for video ads and other formats sold by the view. Each platform defines what counts as a view, for example a minimum watch time, so check that definition before comparing CPVs.

How do you calculate CPV?

CPV = ad spend ÷ views. To plan, turn it around: budget = CPV × views, and views = budget ÷ CPV.

How do you convert CPM to CPV?

If every impression counts as a view, CPV = CPM ÷ 1,000. If only part of the impressions become views, divide by the view rate as well: CPV = CPM ÷ (view rate × 10), with the view rate in percent.

What is a good CPV?

There is no single good number. Platform, country, audience, ad length and the definition of a view all move it. Compare against your own past campaigns and against what a view is worth to you.

Is CPV better than CPM?

They answer different questions. CPM pays for the chance to be seen; CPV pays only when someone actually watched. When the goal is attention, paying per view avoids paying for impressions that were scrolled past.
