Questions
How is engagement rate calculated?
By followers: interactions on a post divided by followers, times 100. By views or reach: interactions divided by the people who saw it, times 100. Views-based rates are usually higher, because not every follower sees every post.
Which interactions count?
Usually likes, comments, shares and saves (or their names on each platform). Some reports leave saves or shares out, so always say which formula you used.
What is a good engagement rate?
There is no universal number: it changes with platform, niche, account size and format. The most useful comparison is with your own recent posts.
