Questions
Is the wheel rigged? Can the result be chosen?
No. Each draw starts from a seed made by your browser's cryptographic generator. The seed decides the winner before the wheel moves, and the animation only turns the wheel to that name. The seed is shown, so anyone can repeat the draw and get the same winners.
How do I draw several names without repeating?
Keep "remove the winner after each spin" on. Each winner leaves the wheel and the next spin is among the names that are left. You can also ask for several winners in one spin.
Does a name written twice have more chance?
Yes. Every line is one slice of the wheel, so a name on two lines has two slices. The page tells you when it finds repeated names.
How many names fit on the wheel?
Up to 100. Past that the labels cannot be read on a phone. For a bigger list, use the giveaway picker or the number draw.
Can I use it to pick the winner of a prize giveaway?
The wheel is made for informal picks: classrooms, groups, games. Prize giveaways that promote a brand or a product are regulated in many countries, and the rules can say how the winner has to be chosen. Check them before you announce one.
Does the animation respect reduced motion?
Yes. If your device asks for reduced motion, the wheel goes straight to the result. You can also tap the wheel during a spin to skip to the end.
What does the link contain?
The names on the wheel, the seed, the number of spins and the title, written into the link itself (the part after #). Nothing is stored on a server. Anyone with the link can read those names, so share it only with the group.
