An order made here is a plain commercial document: it asks for or confirms a sale. It is not an invoice and has no tax value.

Taxes (optional)

Type the name and the rate, for example "Sales tax" and 8. A negative rate is subtracted. This tool knows no tax rule: you decide what applies.

Before and after the order

  1. Start with a quote

Selling? Send a quote first and turn it into an order once the client says yes.

    Open the quote generator
  2. Bill what was ordered

One click on "Turn into an invoice" opens the invoice generator with the items and the parties filled in, the supplier billing the buyer.

How to use it

  1. Choose Purchase order (you are buying) or Sales order (you are selling), then check the number, the date and, if there is one, the delivery date.
  2. Fill in the two parties and, if it goes somewhere else, the delivery address.
  3. Add the items with quantity and unit price, a discount if agreed, and tax lines if they apply.
  4. Write the payment terms and notes, add your logo and keep the signature line if the order needs an approval.
  5. Print it or save it as PDF and send it. When the goods ship, "Turn into an invoice" bills exactly what was ordered.

Examples

  • Café restocking

A café orders coffee, cups and oat milk from its roaster: four lines, a 5% discount on the cups, delivery date and drop-off note.

  • Shop sales order

A furniture shop confirms a customer order with delivery date and address, and the customer signs the line on delivery.

  • Order to invoice

The supplier opens the buyer's purchase order, clicks "Turn into an invoice" and sends the bill with the same items and prices.

Questions

What is a purchase order?

A document the buyer sends to a supplier to order goods or services: what, how many, at what price and when. Once the supplier accepts it, both sides have the same record of the deal. It is not an invoice: the supplier bills later, usually after delivery.

What is the difference between a purchase order and a sales order?

Who issues it. The buyer issues a purchase order to a supplier. The seller issues a sales order to confirm what a customer ordered. Pick the one that matches your side: the title, the party labels and the signature line change.

How do I turn the order into an invoice?

Click "Turn into an invoice". The invoice generator opens with the items, prices, taxes and parties filled in and a reference to the order number. For a purchase order the parties swap, so the supplier bills the buyer. Check the details and the number before you send it.

Is a purchase order made here legally binding?

An accepted order is usually treated as an agreement between the two parties, but this tool does not give legal advice and knows no country's rules. For large or regulated purchases, use your company's own terms and approval process.

Are my suppliers, prices or logo stored anywhere?

No. The order is made in your browser and nothing you type or upload is sent to VISU. The only exception is "Turn into an invoice": it leaves the order in this tab for the invoice page, which reads it once and deletes it.

How do I save the order as a PDF?

Click "Print or save as PDF". In the print window choose "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF") as the printer, keep the scale at 100% and the margins on "none". The text in the PDF stays selectable.
