Crossword Puzzle Maker
Type each answer with its clue and the grid builds itself: the words cross where they share a letter, the squares get numbered and the clues are sorted into Across and Down. Print it with an answer key, share a link to the same puzzle, or solve it online.

Clues with letter counts, no word bank.
Off: answers go in without accents (é becomes E) and without spaces, the way most printed crosswords do it.

The same list and settings with the same seed always make this exact sheet, so the link, the printout and the answer key match. A new one has a new seed.
In the print window choose scale 100% (not "fit to page") and margins "none", so every size comes out exact.

Questions
How does the crossword maker build the grid?
It places the longest answer first and then adds each answer where it crosses the most letters already in the grid, keeping the shape compact. It tries several layouts from the seed and keeps the best one. Every grid is checked before it is shown: no two answers run into each other and no stray words appear.
Why was one of my answers left out?
An answer can only go in where it shares a letter with another answer. If a word has no letter in common with the rest, the page tells you which one, and you can add answers that connect to it or press "Try another layout".
Does it come with an answer key?
Yes. Every crossword has an answer key page with the grid filled in and the answers listed by number. You can print the puzzle with the key or without it.
How are accents and spaces handled?
By default the grid uses letters without accents and leaves out spaces and hyphens, the way most printed crosswords do: "Ice cream" goes in as ICECREAM, and the clue shows (3, 5) so solvers know it is two words. In Spanish the Ñ stays a letter. Tick "Keep accents in the grid" to keep accents.
Can people solve it online?
Yes. The crossword can be solved on this page, on a phone or a computer, with buttons to check the squares or show the answers. The share link and the optional QR code open the same crossword.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account. The small "Made with VISU" line at the foot of the page can be switched off before printing.
