A good trivia night dies from two things: questions nobody can answer, and questions everybody can. This list of 104 fun trivia questions for adults lives in the sweet spot between them, sorted into eight categories so you can build rounds, with every answer right there when the arguing starts.

Use it as a ready-made quiz night, a road trip game or a party icebreaker: pick a category per round, ask ten questions, keep score loosely and let the wrong answers be the entertainment. Every question here has a single, checkable answer, no trick wording and no questions that require being from one particular country to have a chance.

How to Run a Great Trivia Round

Rounds of ten beat marathons of fifty. Pick a category, ask ten, tally, switch. Short rounds keep weaker categories from sinking anyone's whole night and give losing teams a fresh start every few minutes.

Mix the difficulty on purpose. A good round has six questions most people get, three that split the room and one that produces a wild guess and a great story. If every answer gets shouted instantly, upgrade; if the table goes silent twice in a row, downgrade.

Teams of two or three, always. Solo trivia punishes gaps in knowledge; big teams let people hide. Pairs argue productively, and the arguing is the game.

FAQ

How many trivia questions do I need for a game night?

Around 40 to 60 for a full evening: four to six rounds of ten questions each, with breaks between rounds. This page's 104 questions cover two nights or one night with plenty of spares for ties.

How do I keep trivia fair for different ages?

Rotate categories so every generation gets a home game: pair a classic history round with a modern TV round. The categories on this page are built to mix that way.

What makes a trivia question good for adults?

A single checkable answer, no trick phrasing, and difficulty that splits the room roughly in half. The best questions make the table say "I knew that!" a second too late.

How should we handle scoring disputes?

Decide before starting that the reader's card is final, accept close answers generously (a surname alone counts), and keep a phone-check rule for genuine factual disputes only, one per team per night.

Can I reuse these questions for a pub quiz or classroom?

Yes, that is what they are for. Read them aloud, project them or copy them onto cards, and adjust the mix of categories to your crowd.
