Printable Store Signs for Your Window and Door
Pick a ready sign, fill in two or three fields and print it on one sheet: now hiring, closed for the holidays, back in a few minutes or we moved. Add a QR code so people walking by can apply, message you or get directions.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Runs in your browser
People scan the code and a WhatsApp chat with you opens, with the application message already typed.
With area code. Or type the full number with + and the country code.
It appears typed in the chat. The person still taps send.
One of the texts is too long for this sign and was cut. Shorten it, or use the full sheet.
The whole sheet: the biggest letters, for a shop window.
Everything is made in this browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to VISU. WhatsApp and Google Maps are trademarks of their owners. VISU is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Google.
Preview
Write a headline or the job to see your sign.
In the print window choose scale 100% (not "fit to page") and margins "none", so every size comes out exact.
This code carries a long link, so it is dense and has to be scanned from closer. A dynamic VISU QR uses a short link: the same sign scans from farther.
Moved again? New online shop? Change where the code goes
A printed code cannot be edited: the link is written into it. With a dynamic VISU QR, the code on your sign points to a short VISU link, and you choose where that link goes. New number, new address, new shop: you change the destination and the sign in the window keeps working. VISU also shows how many times the code was scanned.
- Create the dynamic QR on VISU. The link of your sign goes along.
- Copy the short link VISU gives you (visu.to/q/...) and paste it in the link field of your sign.
- Print the sign once. Change the destination on VISU whenever you need.
Fill in the number, the address or the link of your sign first, then create its dynamic QR.

A "We're hiring" sign with "Barista, part-time" and a code: the applicant scans it and the chat opens with "I would like to apply for the Barista job" already typed.
Salon on holiday
A "Closed for the holidays" sign that says "Back on Monday, January 6", with a code to the booking page for people who want the first slot.
Shop on a lunch run
A "Back in 15 minutes" half sheet on the door, with a WhatsApp code for the customer who cannot wait.
Clinic at a new address
A "We moved" sign on the old door with the new address in big letters and a code that opens the route in Google Maps.
Questions
What size should a sign in a shop window be?
Use the full sheet for a window people pass at a distance: it gives the biggest letters, up to about 2.5 cm tall in the headline on A4 or Letter. The half sheet suits a door, where people read it up close. The honest test takes one minute: tape it up, walk to where people pass, and check that you can read the headline without stopping.
Which paper should I use?
Plain office paper is fine for a sign that stays up a few days. For weeks in a window, use heavier paper (120 to 180 g/m²) so it stays flat, and matte rather than glossy, because glare makes both the text and the code harder to read. Inkjet ink fades in direct sun, so reprint a sign that has gone pale.
How do I fix the sign to the glass?
Tape it on the inside of the glass, facing out, with clear tape on the four corners, or slide it into a clear plastic sleeve. Keep the sheet flat against the glass and never put tape or a suction cup over the code. Outside, rain ruins paper within a day: use a sleeve or laminate it.
From how far can the QR code be scanned through the glass?
The line under the preview gives the comfortable distance for your sign. The rule behind it: the code side should be about one tenth of the scanning distance, and never under 2 cm. A long link makes a denser code that has to be scanned from closer, which is why a short link scans from farther. Glass adds reflections, so keep the sheet flat against it, away from bright lights, and test from the pavement with two phones, in daylight and after dark.
What happens when someone scans the hiring sign?
WhatsApp opens a chat with your number and the application message is already typed. The person still has to tap send, so you only hear from people who mean it. The code holds your number, like any WhatsApp link: whoever scans it can see it. They need WhatsApp installed.
Can I change the link after the sign is printed?
Not with a normal code: the link is written into it. If the sign carries a dynamic VISU QR instead, you change the destination on VISU and the printed sign keeps working. VISU also counts the scans.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The sign is drawn in your browser. Your number, your address, your texts and your logo never leave this page. The map code only contacts Google Maps when someone scans it.
How do I print it at the exact size?
In the print window, set the scale to 100% (not "fit to page") and the margins to "none", and pick A4 or Letter here to match your printer. A landscape sign is already turned on the sheet, so leave the printer on portrait. The sign keeps its content away from the edge that home printers leave blank.
