The margins leave no room for a grid. Make them smaller.
Print at 100% or "actual size" (not "fit to page") so the sizes come out exact. The PDF is vector: lines stay sharp at any zoom.

How to use it
- Pick the grid: squares, dots, isometric or millimetre paper.
- Choose inches or millimetres and the square size, and a heavier line every few squares if you want blocks.
- Set the line colour, the weight and the margins.
- Choose Letter or A4 and print at 100%, or download the PDF to print later.
Examples
Quad ruled for math
1/4 inch squares (4 per inch) in light blue on Letter, a heavier line every 4 squares to count inches.
Engineering style
1/5 inch squares with a heavier line every 5 squares, fine grey lines for sketches and plots.
Bullet journal page
A 5 mm dot grid in grey on A4, with 12 mm margins so the page can be punched or bound.
3D drawing practice
Isometric triangles with 10 mm sides for cubes, room plans and pixel art at an angle.

Questions
Will the squares be the exact size on paper?
Yes, as long as you print at 100% or "actual size". "Fit to page" shrinks the whole sheet by a few percent. The PDF is made at the real paper size, so a 1/4 inch square is 1/4 inch when printed at 100%. Measure one square with a ruler after the first print to check your printer.
What size is standard graph paper?
In the US the common school size is 1/4 inch squares, 4 per inch, often called quad ruled. Engineering pads use 1/5 inch. In metric countries 5 mm squares are the usual notebook grid. All of them are in the size list, from 1/10 inch and 2 mm up to 1 inch and 20 mm.
What is the difference between dot grid and isometric paper?
Dot grid places a dot where the lines of a square grid would cross, so the page stays light and works for journals and lettering. Isometric paper is made of equilateral triangles, which makes it easy to draw objects in 3D at 30 degree angles. You can print isometric as lines or as dots.
What is millimetre paper?
A grid of 1 mm squares with a heavier line every 5 mm and a heavier one again every 10 mm, used for graphs in science and technical drawing. The sheet always holds whole centimetres, centred inside the margins.
Can I change the margins?
Yes, from 5 to 40 mm. Most home printers cannot print the last 5 mm or so of the sheet, so very small margins may cut the outer lines. The grid always keeps whole squares and is centred on the page.
Is the PDF vector or an image?
Vector. Every line is drawn as a line, so it stays sharp when you zoom in or print at high quality. The PNG option gives a 300 DPI image of the page if you need a picture instead.
