  2. Pick a shape, the width of the main topper, a decoration and the colours.
  3. Choose how many small round toppers you want and what goes on them: the age, the initial or a motif.
  4. Print at 100% scale on thick paper or card stock and cut along the grey line around each piece.
  5. Glue the two copies of each piece back to back with a wooden skewer or a lollipop stick in between, and push it into the cake.

  • Grandpa turns 80

A plaque in black and gold with classic letters, "Happy 80th" on top and the name in the middle.

Questions

What size should my cake topper be?

Pick a width a little smaller than the cake: 10 or 12 cm for a small cake of 15 to 18 cm, 15 cm for a standard 20 to 24 cm cake and 18 cm for a large or tiered cake. The size shown is the cut size, from cut line to cut line, and it prints exactly at 100% scale.

Can I use a cartoon character or a team logo?

No. The tool only uses simple shapes and motifs drawn for it: confetti, stars, hearts, flowers, balloons and sparkles. Characters, logos and brands belong to their owners and are not included. You can match the party theme with the colours and the decoration.

How do I attach the topper to a stick?

Print two of each (the option is on by default), cut both copies, put a wooden skewer, a straw or a lollipop stick on the back of one, add glue or double sided tape and press the second copy on top. The topper then looks finished from both sides.

Which paper should I use?

Card stock or thick paper of 180 to 250 g/m² keeps the topper straight. Matte photo paper also works. Print at 100% scale and cut with scissors or a craft knife along the grey line; the white border hides small slips.

Is it safe to put on the cake?

Paper is not food: keep the topper on a stick standing above the frosting, or on a piece of baking paper, and take it off before cutting the cake.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account. The topper is drawn in your browser and nothing you type is sent to VISU or stored. The small "Made with VISU" line at the foot of the page can be removed with one tick.
