Gift Certificate Maker

Type the value or the service, who it is for and until when it is valid. The page draws the gift certificate, gives each copy its own code and prints 2 or 3 per sheet, or saves one as an image to send by WhatsApp.

Preview

Type the value or the service to see the voucher.

In the print window choose scale 100% (not "fit to page") and margins "none", so every size comes out exact.

The image is the voucher shown above, for sending by WhatsApp or e-mail.

Codes issued in this session

Codes appear here when you print or save a voucher. The list lives only in this open page: download it before you close.

Powered by VISU

This is a design, not a balance

The voucher is a piece of paper or an image. It holds no money, cannot be checked by a machine and does not know if it was already used. The code only works because you keep the list: write down each code you hand out, and cross it off when it is redeemed.

From the voucher to your page

Whoever receives a gift certificate often does not know your business yet. A code on the voucher takes them to your page: address, hours, phone and how to book. VISU Local gives your business a free page in a local directory; with a dynamic VISU QR you can change where the printed code goes later and see how many times it was scanned.

Add a thank-you card to the gift

How to use it

  1. Type your business name and the value or the service the voucher gives.
  2. Fill in "to" and "from", or leave them empty to write by hand. Add the validity and one line of terms.
  3. Choose one code per voucher, the same coupon code on every copy, or no code, and how many to make.
  4. Print 2 or 3 per sheet at 100% scale and cut on the marks, or save one as an image to send by WhatsApp.
  5. Download the list of codes and keep it. Cross off each code when the voucher is used.

Examples

  • Salon gift certificate

Three per sheet for "$50", each with its own code, the validity and "not exchangeable for cash", sold at the counter in December.

  • Coupon for a reopening

Twelve copies with the same code "WELCOME15" and "15% off your next visit", handed out with each purchase.

  • Sent by WhatsApp

One voucher for "One 60 minute massage", saved as an image and sent to the person who bought it for a friend.

Questions

Does the voucher hold a balance or check the code?

No. It is a printable design. Nothing is stored and nothing is checked: the code is text that you compare with your own list when the customer comes back. That list is on this page while it is open, as a CSV file or a printed sheet.

How are the codes made?

In your browser, at random, with 8 letters and digits. The letters and digits that look alike (0 and O, 1, I and L) are left out, so a code read over the phone or written by hand stays clear. For a coupon you can type your own code and print it on every copy.

What should the terms say?

What avoids an argument later: until when it is valid, whether it covers any service or one in particular, whether change is given, whether it can be exchanged for cash and whether booking is needed. Rules on gift cards and expiry differ by country and state, so check the ones where you sell.

How do I stop a voucher from being used twice?

Keep the list and cross off each code when it is redeemed. Sign or stamp the voucher when you sell it, and keep the paper when the customer uses it. A copied image has the same code, and the list shows that it was already used.

Can I send it by WhatsApp instead of printing?

Yes. "Save this one as an image" saves the voucher shown in the preview as a PNG. When you make several, choose which one is shown first: each has its own code.

What size are the vouchers?

A third of the sheet (about 210 x 99 mm on A4, which fits a standard long envelope) or half of it. Print on card stock of 180 g/m² or more so it feels like a gift.

Is this an invoice or a receipt?

No. It is a gift voucher design, not a tax or fiscal document. Issue your usual receipt for the sale.
