Federal holidays as OPM lists them, on the day observed when the date falls on a weekend. State holidays are not included: add yours as days off.

How the business days are counted

      Same rules as the spreadsheets

Between two dates, both ends count when they are business days, like NETWORKDAYS; untick either end if your rule says so. Adding days works like WORKDAY: the start date is not counted.

      Holidays from the official lists

Each list is the one published or set by law for 2026 and 2027, read on 16 October 2026. A holiday that falls on a weekend is not counted twice.

      Your rules on top

Regional holidays, vacation and office closures go in "Your own days off". Court, tax and contract deadlines have their own counting rules: check them before you rely on a date.

      Plan around the dates

      1. Print the year with its holidays

The printable calendar marks the same national holidays, with your own dates and a QR code.

        Open the printable calendar
      2. Put the deadline in everyone's calendar

Make an "add to calendar" link for Google, Apple and Outlook with the date you found.

        Make a calendar link

      How to use it

      1. Choose "Between two dates" or "Add or subtract" business days.
      2. Pick the dates, or the start date and the number of business days. Choose whether the start and end dates count.
      3. Pick the country whose national holidays are left out, and the weekend. Add state holidays, vacation or closures as your own days off.
      4. Read the result with the holidays it skipped, then copy it, download every day as a CSV or copy a link to the same count.

      Examples

      • Project time before the holidays

From Monday 2 November to Thursday 31 December 2026, with Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day skipped: the business days left for the project.

      • Delivery in 10 business days

An order placed on Wednesday 23 December 2026, with Christmas Day and New Year's Day off: 10 business days later is Friday 8 January 2027.

      • Office closed between Christmas and New Year

The same count with 28 to 31 December added as your own days off, so the team plan matches the office calendar.

      Questions

How many business days are there in 2026 in the US?

With Saturday and Sunday as the weekend and the 11 federal holidays that fall on weekdays (Independence Day is observed on Friday 3 July), 2026 has 250 business days. Pick 1 January and 31 December 2026 to see it.

      Are both dates counted?

By default yes, like NETWORKDAYS in Excel: the start and end dates count when they are business days. Untick either one when your rule leaves it out.

      Which holidays are left out?

The national holidays of the country you pick, for 2026 and 2027: US federal holidays (OPM), Brazil's national holidays by law, Mexico's mandatory rest days (Federal Labour Law, art. 74) and the holidays common to every region of Spain (BOE). State and city holidays are yours to add.

How do I add 30 business days to a date?

Choose "Add or subtract", pick the start date and type 30. As with WORKDAY, the start date is not counted and the result is always a business day.

Can I use it for legal or tax deadlines?

As a quick check only. Courts, tax offices and contracts each have their own rules about which days count and when a deadline starts. Confirm with the rule that applies to you.

Can I put this calculator on my site?

Yes. Press "Add this tool to my site" to get the code. It works the same inside your page, with a small credit link.
