Examples
Classic 52 weeks
One dollar in week 1, two in week 2, up to 52 in the last week: 1,378 dollars in a year. Biggest first works too, when January money is easier.
100 envelopes for a holiday
One hundred boxes numbered 1 to 100, one dollar per number. Pick a box at random, put in its number: 5,050 at the end.
A goal of 1,000 in 50 boxes
My own goal of 1,000 split into 50 varied boxes, all multiples of 5, that add up to exactly 1,000.
Questions
How much do I save in the 52 week challenge?
The amount of week 1 times 1,378. With 1 a week you end with 1,378, with 5 a week 6,890 and with 10 a week 13,780. The page shows the total before you print.
How does the 100 envelope challenge work?
Number 100 envelopes, pick one at random and put in its number times the amount. With 1 per number the 100 envelopes add up to 5,050. You can choose from 10 to 365 envelopes.
Can I set my own goal?
Yes. Type a goal, the number of boxes and the step (each box is a multiple of it). Equal boxes split it evenly; varied boxes mix small and big amounts. They always add up to the goal exactly.
Is my progress saved?
Your ticks are saved in this browser only, one set per plan. Nothing is sent anywhere, so another phone will not see them. Print the sheet with your ticks if you want a copy.
Which currencies can I use?
US dollar, euro, pound, Brazilian real and Mexican peso. The amounts are written in the format of the currency you pick.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is a planning sheet that splits the amount you choose. It does not know your budget and does not suggest how much to save.
