Email QR Code Generator

Type your address, pick a template for the subject and the message, and get a QR code that opens a ready-to-send email on the phone that scans it. Accents and line breaks are encoded the way the mailto standard asks.

Start from a template

Leave blank lines for what the person should fill in. Short messages make a code that scans more easily.

What you type stays in this browser. Nothing is sent to VISU or to any mail server.

Your email link

Type an email address to see your link and QR code.

Type an email address to see your link and QR code.

This QR code is static: the address and the text are written into it. Scanning does not send anything. The person still taps send in their mail app.

Printing it? Keep a way to change it

If your address changes, a printed email code has to be printed again. A VISU Link page holds your email, phone, WhatsApp and links in one place, and a dynamic VISU QR pointing to it keeps working: you edit the destination in your account, and VISU shows how many times the code was scanned.

Print card

A small card with the code, for the counter, the packaging or an invitation.

The card appears when your email link is ready.

In the print window choose scale 100% (not "fit to page") and margins "none", so every size comes out exact.

How to use it

  1. Type the address that should receive the email. Add a copy address if a second inbox should get it too.
  2. Pick a template (support, feedback, RSVP or quote) or write your own subject and message.
  3. Tap "Test it" to open the same message in your own mail app and check how it reads.
  4. Download the QR code as PNG or SVG, or print the card with a title above the code.
  5. Scan the printed code with a phone before you hand it out.

Examples

  • Support on the product

A sticker on the box that opens an email to support with "Order number:" already in the message, so every request arrives with the same fields.

  • RSVP on an invitation

Guests scan, fill in name and number of guests, and send. Replies land in one inbox with the same subject.

  • Quote request on a flyer

A tradesperson puts the code on a flyer: the email opens with quantity, deadline and phone to fill in.

  • Feedback at the counter

A card by the till that opens a short feedback message to the owner, with no form to build.

Questions

How does an email QR code work?

The code contains a mailto link. When someone scans it, their phone opens its mail app with a new message addressed to you, with the subject and the text you prepared. Nothing is sent by the scan itself: the person reads, edits and taps send.

Why do accents or line breaks come out wrong in some email QR codes?

A mailto link has its own rules (RFC 6068): a space is written %20, a line break in the message is %0D%0A, and accents and emoji are written as UTF-8 bytes. Codes that skip those rules show plus signs instead of spaces, or a message on a single line. This tool encodes every field that way, and you can check the result with the test link.

How long can the message be?

The form takes up to 1,500 characters, but shorter is better. Every accent, emoji and line break takes several characters inside the link, and a longer link makes a denser code that needs a bigger print and a better camera. The tool warns you when the link passes 300 and 1,000 characters.

Can the email go to more than one address?

Yes. Separate the addresses with commas in "Send to", and use the copy line for a Cc. The limit here is 10 addresses. Support for Cc depends on the mail app that opens the link, so test the code on the phones your customers use.

Which mail app opens when the code is scanned?

The app that the phone has set as its default for email. If the person has no mail account set up on the phone, the app opens its setup screen instead of your message. This is a property of mailto links, not of this tool.

Can I change the address after printing?

No. An email QR code is static: the address is written into the code. If the address may change, print a dynamic VISU QR that points to a page with your contact options, such as a VISU Link, and edit that page or the destination later.

Does VISU see the addresses or the message?

No. The link and the code are built in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent to VISU, and the events this page records never include addresses, subjects or text.
