FreeCell: the strategy solitaire

cards All 52 cards are dealt face up, so almost every deal can be won with the right plan. Use the four free cells as parking spots and build the foundations from Ace to King. Free, no download, no sign-up.

How to play

  1. Move cards between columns in descending order and alternating colors.
  2. Park any single card in one of the four free cells at the top left.
  3. You can move a run of cards at once when there are enough free cells and empty columns.
  4. Safe cards fly to the foundations by themselves. Build each suit from Ace to King to win.

Questions

Can every FreeCell game be won?

Almost all of them. Very few deals are impossible, so if you get stuck, Undo and try another plan.

How many cards can I move at once?

Up to (free cells + 1) doubled for each empty column. The game checks it for you.

How is the score counted?

10 points per card on a foundation, plus a bonus for a fast win with few moves.
